Frequently Asked Questions
Direct answers about the sourcing fee, timelines, availability and how the process works.
The sourcing fee
What does the sourcing fee cover?
Research into suitable equipment, vessels, transport or contractors; direct outreach to our supplier and partner network; administration and validation of your request; and presentation of the options we identify. It is a fee for sourcing work.
Is the sourcing fee refundable?
No. Once the sourcing process begins the fee is non-refundable. You must explicitly accept this on the request form before payment is taken.
Is the fee a deposit against the final cost?
No. The sourcing fee is entirely separate from final supplier, rental, transport, charter or procurement costs. It is not credited against them.
Why do you charge before starting?
Sourcing consumes real time before any quotation exists. Charging upfront means our team’s capacity goes to clients who genuinely intend to proceed, which makes us faster for everyone who does.
Does the fee change?
It can. Standard, urgent and complex or specialised requests may carry different fees. The applicable amount is shown before you pay, and all amounts are set by the Ravalent administrator.
Availability and outcomes
Do you guarantee the equipment will be available?
No. Availability depends on the market and our supplier network at the time of the request. We guarantee the sourcing work, not a specific outcome.
Does Ravalent own the equipment?
Not necessarily. Ravalent is a sourcing and procurement intermediary. We locate equipment, vessels, transport and contractors through our supplier network.
What happens if nothing suitable is found?
We tell you plainly, explain what we approached and why it did not fit, and where possible suggest alternatives. The sourcing fee remains non-refundable because the work was carried out.
How are quotations handled?
We compile the options and supplier details we obtain and present them to you. Final commercial terms are then confirmed as part of the arrangement between the parties involved.
Timing and information
How long does sourcing take?
It varies by category, specification and urgency. Straightforward equipment requests move quickly; specialised marine, heavy-lift or multi-item scopes take longer. We confirm expected timing after reviewing your request.
What information do I need to provide?
At minimum: your contact and company details, project location and dates, the category you need, and a description of the requirement. Technical detail, drawings, RFQs and lift plans make sourcing significantly faster and more accurate.
Can I submit a request from a job site?
Yes. The request form is designed for mobile use — large fields, clear labels, easy uploads and a visible progress indicator.
Do you accept international requests?
Yes, including cross-border transport and marine movements.
Suppliers
How do suppliers register?
Through the supplier registration form. Applications are reviewed manually and approved suppliers are tagged and matched against live requests. Registration does not guarantee work.
Will my project details be shared with suppliers?
Only the information necessary to obtain a quotation, and only after internal approval. Sensitive project information is not sent to suppliers automatically.
Legal review required. These answers describe the intended commercial process. Final wording,
particularly regarding fees, refunds and liability, should be reviewed by a qualified attorney in
Ravalent’s jurisdiction before launch.
